O’Neill Landscape Group On HGTV Flip or Flop Atlanta – Buckhead GA, Landscape Renovation
O’Neill Landscape Group has been chosen as a landscaping contractor for an upcoming HGTV Flip or Flop Atlanta project. Our expertise in creating diverse, beautiful landscapes that boost curb appeal precedes us – so let’s see what we got into on this project for HGTV Flip or Flop Atlanta.
Our Scope of Work
Once renovation on this Buckhead, GA home had been completed, O’Neill Landscape Group was brought to the home in order to totally revamp its landscaping solution.
The landscape of the home was quite sparse. The grass was in terrible condition, with quite a few large brown spots and dead areas. The foundation plants were tired and splotchy. The concrete sidewalk was cracked, split level, and in the wrong place after the added to second level entry porch.
We were brought in to grade and re-sod the lawn, and add some extra plantings around the foundation, flagstone a new walkway, and ad annuals for a pop of color.
First, we cut and removed the concrete sidewalk. Then, we removed the shrubs from the property and disposed of them. After that, we began grading for new sod, going over the entire lawn with a Bobcat to prepare it for application of a high-quality Zoysia sod – perfect for the hot Atlanta climate. We then began installation of new sod, ensuring that it was installed correctly and began to take root.
After replacing the sod, we brought in a large quantity of mulch to sculpt some new flower beds, and support planting around the foundation. The main planting extended from the sidewalk to the foundation of the home itself and included roses, juniper, loropetalums, and accent boulders to help keep the mulch in place and to provide visual contrast.
The result of our work was quite good – if we do say so ourselves. Our work just goes to show how important accent landscaping is for brilliant curb appeal. Even the most comprehensive home renovation just doesn’t feel “complete” without a landscaping solution.
You may have a brand new coat of paint and a totally redone interior, but your landscape is the first thing that visitors will see – and dead grass, dying flower beds, and sparse plantings don’t help your curb appeal. Without well-done, healthy accent landscaping, even the most beautiful house doesn’t look its best.
Overall, we were quite happy with the result of our work – as were the hosts of the show Ken and Anita Corsini – and we can’t wait for you to see our work on HGTV this fall!
